That's a very good question.... and i have no answere other then yes, maybe you should contact yahoo, and give them some major hints...

Yes, it could be considered discrimination. I just spent a while looking through all the avatar options, found only one pair of non-fashion glasses, no blue hair option, no pudgy option, etc.
Perhaps Yahoo! should think about aiming at demographics other than the tweens to 20-somethings, and portray human bodies like they really are, not an idealized cartoon.
