It is genetic. Really no way to avoid it.....find a very good colorist and hair will stay healthy and still have color. I went gray in my 20's and have colored for over.......well let's just say a lot of years and it looks natural and my hair is in great shape.
People's hair goes gray and white with age because the pigment making cells (melanocytes) top producing the pigments.
I remember in the 90's Norwich City Football Club were one of the top fliers of the Premiership/Division 1.
But I cannot remember the managers name. All I can tell you is he had grey hair.

For Color treated hair, the BEST conditioner, a quality product, is not going to be found in the grocery store. And Pantene Pro-V is NOT a quality product, it is just the opposite.
My favorites are the Biolage color care shampoo and conditioner, and Redken color care shampoo and conditoner. Remember to use a quality shampoo as well, that's even more important. Both are excellent quality and will help maintain the color and health of your hair. These products are only in salons, and they are worth the extra 3 dollars or so more than what you would spend on the crap that it's the store. Good luck!

Well when i pass ppl i do smile because i get tired of seeing ppl that have a smug or sad or empty look on their faces. I see the same thing when i see them in their cars. So i do not want to be like them. So I smile at them and sometimes they will smile back. A smile takes no effort, i also wave at ppl that are walking when i am in my car, so i wish everyone would try it.
I live in Hawaii and I do this everytime. I smile and say good morning to people I know or don't know. Or I'll smile and say "Hi" as I pass people through out the day. Why not? Doesn't cost me nothing.
And if they don't want to smile back or offer a greeting, no biggie! I'm not offended or think the person is rude. Maybe they don't want to greet me. It's their right.
I guess I'm just in a happy place that some people may not be at or care to be at.

Its my 50th birthday on Tuesday and i`m not quite sure how that happened. One minute i was playing on the park with my mates, worrying about what mum would say about the rip in my trousers, the next, i`m sat here, with a wife of thirty years, three children and seven grandchildren! Good God Man, where`s it all gone ? Fifty, bloody fifty i ask you. I can`t be, must have got the dates wrong, why, because i still listen to the Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight, with my music full blast. I can tell you most of what`s in the charts,music and film. I can converse with all my Grandchildren (That word again, keeps cropping up) I know most slang terms on The Street, and according to those closest,i have good Street Cred! Fifty i ask you! My doctor says i need a visit to the opticians for new glasses, yet when i look in the mirror all i see is a young man with a bit of Grey hair, but thats distinguished, or so my wife says. I don't want to be fifty, it sounds so old and i have so much to give yet.The children still borrow my Cd's and i get complimented on my sweatshirts and shoes, its just not fair! And now,as i write this,my wife is looking over my shoulder saying thank you for the most wonderful years of her life and sharing in the births of our children and grandchildren, and staying strong when times were hard. I turn round and she has tears in her eye`s, she says she is so happy and can`t wait for the next fifty years. Something tells me i`m going to enjoy being fifty!

I'm 56 and dare to say I'm luckier than you even though I'm dying from pancreatic cancer. I'm lucky to have the love of my wife, kids, and grandkids, seven to be exact. I'm lucky to have served in the military for 20 years. I'm lucky to still have my 81 year old mom's advice to ease what I'm going through. I'm lucky to have friends and family ask how I'm doing and if they can help with anything. I'm lucky to have survived this long because so few do.
I could go on and on but, come to think of it, I'm not just lucky, I'm blessed!

Yes, I too am lucky - I'm 52 and pretty healthy. My brother died of a sudden heart attach at the age of 39, my husband died the following year of bone cancer when he was 40, so, yes, I feel blessed to he doing well. I have 5 children (3 bio and 2 steps) and three grandchildren and for me, life is still an adventure.

Well a change of job may or may not help you if it's people in general you have a problem with.
If you dislike people, then you should find a job where you don't have to deal with people, where you work on your own.
You have to figure out what it is that you're displeased with.
It could be you are in the wrong environment and totally unmotivated, and a change of people and duties and responsibilities will make a difference. I don't know what you do so I can't really say.
Most desk jobs will become a bore sooner or later, and its the people that make it worthwhile. If they don't, then definitely find a better group of people to work with.

No I don't hate my job, actually you complaining made me more thankful for my job. I'm a nurse and as much as sometimes I b.... about my job, it gives me a way to take care of those needy folks. It gives me a way to put my troubles into perspective. When I actually take my attention off myself I find that I'm thankful for my life and all those around me.

If you don't like your job just because of the people there, then there are two thing you can do.
One: Change your job look for one that does not need you to interact with lots of people.
Two: You have to learn to adjust with people, and start to like them even if you don't.

Always tell your self you like your job, with a smile. many time in the morning when you get up. Think Its going to be great having needy people. Tell your self its going to be a great day ahead. I know its way too difficult. Trust me it will pay off. Its difficult to start off... but in a week or two's time you will see a big change in the way you look at your job. You have to stay in +ive frame of mind and don't let you self down at all times...

When I was your age, I went out with a guy who was 17 years older than I! I grew from it, because he had a whole lot more life experience than I did. At your age, even 8 years is a bit of a difference as far as where you are in your lives, but not so much that you couldn't have fun with this guy. If you decide to follow through, you might want to look at it this as a fun experience and not something that could be potentially serious, as long you both understand the rules from the start.

i had the same problem that you do and i like my hair with the top half a light redish brown color and i do the bottom in black or a blue black and it looks really good but for me to do it it costs about 20 dollars and to get it done its about 100 dollars but if you dont know how to do it yourself i suggest you get it done professionally first and then go from there also you can go to a salon and ask them there opinion thats how i got the idea

My son was born with reddish brown hair and is now sporting a cute blonde style. I had blonde hair as a baby and it changed to a dark blonde, almost light brown color. My son's father has dark brown hair.
Only time will tell what traits your child will hold on to.
I know a lot of grown people with eyes like that... the eye color "changes" depending on what they wear. I always thought it was kinda cool.

I would say that by 6 months they should be permanent but it could be up to a year. His hair will most likely get darker. My son had blondish hair when he was born but it is now light brown and he is 11 months.
their eyes will change over and over again. my doc told me that usually at 5 moths you have a pretty good idea what color eyes they will have...but could still change months, even YEARS down the road. as far as the hair goes....me and my oldest sons dad are dark haired with dark dark eyes and he was born with black hair...at 3 he is blonde haired blue eyed. my youngest has WHITE hair and blue eyes. you will be amazed at how many times the baby changes looks.

His eyes will keep changing, maybe until he's a year old. My baby is 14 months and his eyes are still changing colors. It's interesting to watch. His hair will probably get darker, especially after you get it cut the first time.
My daughter had navy blue eyes that started turning green sometime after 1 year. By age two, they had settled into a green/brown hazel mix. As far hair, mine was always brown but my mom and uncles were all white-blonde until about 5. They started getting darker and by teen years one was a red-head, one blondish-brown and one chocolate brown. Anyway, I think the eyes are usually set around one but the hair can change for a long time.
My son was born with bright blue eyes. Over a few months, they started to turn...first to greyish, then little brown specks and now they are greyish brown. Hes 4 1/2 months. He was born with sooo much BLACK hair..now its almost gone and its light brown! They say give it up to a year to determine permanent eye color :)

I wouldn't get white-one of my friends made that mistake and by the end of the day, it was dirty and you could see hairs all over the jacket (they stick SO easily). I'd get the brown because it's gorgeous and it matches with more. But if you're going purely by looks and have a really good dry cleaner (because most of the dirt doesn't come off in the wash- it needs special treatment if you want the white looking good) then go for the white because I think that'd look best with your hair color- speaking of, you're SO lucky! I love red hair! So go for the brown! And good luck!

My natural color is a med. brown with alot of grey. Is there any way to remove the black or do I just have to wait and grow it out and cut it off? If so...what can I do to cover my grey until the black is all gone and not look like a rainbow?
I am a hairstylist, and do a lot of color correction. It will not take months... You can have a better color that day. Yes.. it is costly. I usually have my corrective clients come in first thing in the morning, as I don't know if it will take two hours, or eight hours and this is what sets the price. Your black color needs to be lifted (stripped) then your hair needs to be filled, and then the desired color over the filler. There is no way to do this at home, I'm sorry to say. Technically... you can... but at home your only option would be bleach. if you go to a reputable salon, we use a product called Ellimin8, which gently removes the color, and does not leave the hair is such fragile state. I recommend having this done, as your hair is important. It is one of the first things people see and can take quite some time to grow out. As far as your roots go..... you can still do a root touch up. Don't over lap with the black, and don't use black as this will further your problem. Yes.. it won't be the same color.. but what options do you have if your don't want to go have your hair fixed?

sorry hun the only way to get rid of the black is to have your hair stripped, and most hair dressers refuse to do this because it is way too damaging for your hair. Your best bet for now, is to talk to a good hair dresser. By this i dont mean the young one in the local salon, i mean the head stylist of a reputable salon. Try Toni %26amp; Guy if you don't want to stretch to any of the more expensive names. They will give you much better advice than anybody online can.
Also, I would advise you to wear fake tan for the next while, as it will stop you looking completely washed out by the black hair. hope this helps!!

Go to your hairstylist, and let her worry about stripping the colour out. It is an involved process, that requires care if you are not to have your hair burnt from all the harsh chemicals.
She should be able to return your hair to, at least, a medium brown, or maybe a medium reddish brown, which would go wonderfully with your green eyes and Irish skin.
Your only other alternative is a wig.
I think you will have to go to the solon to get it stripped if you dont want to wait till it grows out .
my advice to you is just to let it grow out then cut it off but untill then you should thin kbout wat color you would rather have it. whether it be light brown, dark brown, or another color. this same thing has happened to me but i dont hav egrey hair so it didnt really bother me except for the fact that it did not look good on me. well god luck and hope this helps a little bit.
Dont panic. Dont use any other chemicals for a while either you could do some serious damage to your hair. Let it grow out. Keep it clean and conditioned.Try a different hair style, have fun with it its only hair, it will grow out
shampoo with a clarifying shampoo to fade the color, but you're going to have to go to a salon, I tried ligthening only from medium brown to light brown and it came out a weird orangy color. You need to go to a salon and spend the money or just deal with your hair being black.
One time I got a dye that was too dark for my hair, I'm a dark brown brunette and I got a BLACK...and just with washing it a lot, in like 2 weeks.... it faded. Or go to Sally's or any beauty store where they sell professional beauty supplies and read the instructions thoroughly on a product that removes hair dye. Ask the lady at the store what she recommends, or just tough it out and pay for someone who knows what their doing to remove the dye and start over with a lighter color.
any good salon will remove the colour but will use bleach to do so.
Find a good hairstylist that deals in corrective color. Don't try to fix it yourself, otherwise you'll end up with hair the color of mud if you try to re-color it or you might destroy it if you bleach it out! Good luck.

Yes. It's safe to dye your hair while pregnant. Studies show that you would have to be exposed to high amounts of the chemicals in high concentration for prolonged periods of time through out your pregnancy for the chemicals to cause any harm. If your'e worried, have your hair dyed at a salon or just do some high lights.

I don't think is a medical problem. No no. This is premature Graying. This happens to many people. I knew a guy who was 15 and 38-40% of his hair was gray. I started with my first 2 gray hairs at age 15. There is no going back. It is a natural process that can't be stopped. Report It
I think dying would be the only option. Please don't feel self conscious of it, though; it's not a big deal at all. It won't make you look like a pensioner! Think of it as a quirk :)
okay so i am a natural blonde. and this dark brown with ugly blonde highlight color job is NOT doing it for me. i was wondering if i HAD to have it bleached blonde or there were any other ways of turning it back to a good looking blonde color? im going to a salon..im not doing this myself. but i want to know what to ask for. if i had it bleached would it turn out..yellow, orange, grey, blue tinted, green tinted, or some ugly trashy blonde color that you see on so many blondes today?? or is it going to be a pretty blonde that i can tolerate?? im so worried. lol.
Hi, I am a hair stylist and might be able to offer some helpful suggestions :)
There is a process that stylists do that can strip the hair color you have applied from your hair.
It won't revert it straight back to your original/natural blonde color, but there are many wonderful things that can help! Bleach to me is such a harsh drying product and should only be used when really necessary. When a stylist strips the hair color, it is a form of bleaching, but less harsh.
Although you may still notice slightly different tones in your hair, they may then apply either a permanent color to it, a semi-permanent rinse or a tinter in the format of colour corrector that will 'stabilise' any orangey tones.
Usually a bluey/silvery or purpley semi-permanent tint is best for getting rid of the dreaded day-glo look, lol. Purple, silver and blue nuetralise orange and red tones, therefore creating a much more natural end color.
Once you have been colored and styled in the salon, there are many great vegetable rinses and tinters that can be bought from stores all over that will keep the orangey red tones away.
When the hair is processed back to the near original state and the end tint or dye/rinse is applied, it will last for a time, then begin to fade, but please don't worry too much.. Just find a tinter or rinse that has silvery/blue or very pale tones to it, avoiding all honey or warm blonde colors, as this will attract back that nasty hue with avengance, lol.
I hope this has helped you some, and maybe settled your worrys a little too :)
Please try not to fret too much, as long as you find or have a great stylist and colorist you shouldn't have a problem. Ask around if you don't know of a good colorist, it's always a great way to find one. If you admire someones hair and color, even if you don't know them and see them in the street, be brave and ask... lol, it could well help you!
And don't forget to use a nourishing deep conditioner once you have had this done, as the process will dry your hair a little. Then keep up the deep conditioner treatment once every month to six weeks and you hair should benefit a great deal.

Or ask for highlights in various shades of blonde so when it grows out it'll look natural.

they will process it, it will turn orange at first, but odds are they will double process it and dye it back to blond after the bleaching. they should let you pick the shade of blond you want and they will dye it that color
I made the same mistake and the best thing to do is gradually add more and more light highlights into your hair. You dont want to bleach it cause it will be VERY damaged. Its going to take a while to get it back to blonde, but it will be DEFINATELY worth it.

This is not as easy as you would think, but then again, it could be worse. If you could just be in shock about the color chamge, give it a few days...if you maybe just want to 'lighten' the effect, try washing it in tomato juice. I know it sounds gross, but my daughter is a natural blonde who tried some temp. hair color for a girl scout project several years ago, she colored (with permission) her blonde locks red with a color that was supposed to shampoo out in 8-12 washes. Two months later, it was still red, I talked to everyone and basically what happens is because the pigment in the blonde are so lite, they grab hold of the darker colors and don't let go!! The only way we could truly get the color out without damaging her hair was to wash it in the tomato juice (which her hair dresser told us to do), after about three washes, her hair was back to normal. Yeah that should work. If not then get a dye your mom wants and then do all of her hair or get a hairdresser to do it.
You dont need foils to cover greys. Just buy an overall colour and put it all through her hair. You could also go to a salon for this. Foils are used to create highlights.

No you are not the biggest loser! You are in what some people like to call the wilderness. The wilderness is a terrible place that people face when they are about to make a great change in their life. You are not what you THINK you are, but what you are actively THINKING you are. Your self pity is what detracts people from you. Do not expect a lot of sympathy from the world for your condition, but rather seek a purpose for your self that will excite you into becoming very busy and you will not even think about these concerns. If you try to dothings for people to make you feel better do not expect gratitude either, but rather do it simply to feel the joy of giving. People never get what they want in life until they learn first to appreciate what they already have received. Thoughts lead to action and you will feel a certain way after you do something. So if you lack happiness try to act happy for a day and your feelings will start to shift to happiness and thus begin change your waking thoughts to positive every day and start to truly feel better about yourself and your life.

First off, I hope that you sincerely aren't making any of this up before I try to give you some advice. Let's take this from the beginning. You're twenty-four years old living with your parents. Well, your parents may want you out of the house, and even if they don't and enjoy you being in the house, you should start making an effort to try to get out of their house and on you own feet. Show them that you care about them and would like to make that move to show that you've appreciated them. But before you move out of the house, you have to start back further than that. You mentioned in your question that you were overweight. If you are up to it, and I do believe that you are, start little by little changing your eating habits. For example, I don't eat after eight o'clock because that's when you can gain the most weight. Try to take that extra step, if you feel yourself reaching for ice cream, reach for something else sweet and cold, like yogurt. You can also exercise or hitch a ride to the gym. That should help if you can do it. Once you start losing a little weight, maybe you could look for a job and start work so you can get a paycheck. Maybe that can help your low savings account. *wink* When you get a little money, see if you can get insurance before your car because if you die, you wouldn't want your parents to have all of those bills that could put them in debt. Moving on, There's nothing wrong with being a virgin and 24 years old. So you've never been kissed, well, look on the bright side: once you start your diet and exercise, you'll become more attractive to somebody someday. Just try to be patient and socialize with people. Maybe internet dating would help. You also said that you haven't had any friends in almost ten years. Maybe you could try to reunite with those old buddies and see if you could reignite that friendship flame. If not, try making new friends. And most importantly, please, don't call yourself ugly, but have faith in yourself. I may not be the prettiest person in the world, but in my mind I am a very beautiful person, whether people think that about me or not. I guess I'm quite optimistic. You also mentioned that you have imaginary friends. So what? If that's what floats your boat, I say go for it! If having them around and being king for a while makes you happy, why get rid of them? After you start making some money you can save it so you can move out and be more independent .
