I currently have black hair to my waist and I was thinking about getting highlight. I want to get some light caramel similar to silver, but not grey though. Could this be possible? How much would this cost?.

You have to make sure your stylist uses the fastest developer with the lightener. Even then, s/he will have to apply heat (helmet dryer on hot) to get the developer to work even faster. Your stylist may even want to do it in two stages (separate appointments) to avoid damaging your hair.

Visit each salon you have narrowed out of your local yellow pages and ask for an estimate on what you want to have done. They should be able to quote you within a range of prices.

first question is what color are your eyes? if you have brown eyes you won't lift bleach wise as faster as people with blue green or hazel eyes( i learned this at cosmetology school)...so the silver idea may not be something you can achieve...because so much pigment would need to be removed from your hair that it would be very damaged....but light caramel is totally possible....most good salons charge 85 and up for highlights..if you are paying less than that i would honestly be suspicious...because really good highlights take time...but honestly i am loving your hair right now saw the pic you have ...you have great hair why change it?
