I have dry hair and want to color it without damaging it...suggestions?

I live in Florida, work outside and use the pool several times per week therefore my hair gets very dry this time of year. I want to color it to cover grey without damaging it further. Are there any suggestions or steps I can do before coloring to leave it in the best shape possible? All suggestions are appreciated.

heyy i noe what u mean becuz i hate wen haircolor makes my hair drier but i think the best thing is to use revlon colorsilk their haircolor doesnt have amonia so it doesnt damage it and also re member if you are coloring ur own hair to dye it wen it hasnt been washed for 1-2 days dont take a shower get out dry your hair and then dye it because it doesnt come out as good i hopee i helped good luckk

trim your hair, then get a hot oil treatment. get advise on the best conditioner. try heir vitamins, too. then do-it yourself colorings like l'oreal excellence creme, so you don't have to have your hair heated.

If you're dying it a dark color then it's gonna be fine...if it's lighter then I'd get some good conditioning shampoo and give it 2 weeks before coloring it!

my girlfriend is a licensed hairdresser and she says make sure to goto a professional to have them color and make sure you dont bleach it, the color should have a conditioner in it, but thats only if ya dont bleach it first to lighten it, thats the bad stuff. Box colors are also a bad idea, you will just end up spending the cash to have someone redo it probably

you should buy the loreal kids sports hair shampoo. then buy the suave conditioner. that makes your hair not have cloren in it and the suave makes your hair smooth. so you don't have to color it. but not the suave kids kind the audlt kind.

semi- permanent color is the best. it will give you the condition you need but it will only blend the grey not cover. it will only darken it but at least the sun will have something to bleach out without doing to much damage to the hair. good luck
