Should i go for it and dye my hair?

For years and years i've always wanted to dye my hair an all over dark brown colour. But i've never got round to it, i suppose im just really lazy.

I don't even know exactly what shade of dark brown i would like it but i'd have it dyed at a salon, i will not be home dying it. So do i just go into a salon and just say 'i want my hair dyed dark brown all over please?' haha, I just don't know how it works since i've never had it done before.

My hair is natural at the moment, I've never dyed it before in my life, its a light brown, sometimes people say its blondeish. And i have blue/grey eyes.

i used to dye my hair all the time (from aged 11) and i can only advise you not to do it!!

now at 33 i have grey streaks %26amp; extremely dry hair

2. Are you willing to go back every 6 weeks or so for touch ups?

3. Do you have a recommended stylist? (I had a nightmare of a colorist once)

4. Can you afford it?

Its enitrely up to you when your hair becomes chemically treated it is harder to look after.

its your choice but get it done at the salon they will use better stuff on your hair and tell you how to look after it.if you dont like it and you dye it again and you keep dying it,thats when your hair starts to go thin etc.

i went through my dying hair religiously phase (i'm a teen too!)

eventually i stopped cos i got sick of it! (my hair condition... awful! - but then again i dyed it all the time!) just gave me an excust to always cut my hair.. find your own style - be confident in your skin - not saying rely on your looks but be comfortable - don't aimlessly follow fashion!

I worked in a salon for 4 yrs. I suggest you do some checking around and find a good well known salon. They should have certificates hanging by thier stations from the state in which you live - this tells you that they have went to school and passed all their test. Then tell them you want to look at a hair color sample board, this will have small pieces of dyed hair on it with the color names beside them. If this is your first time to go to dark brown I would suggest to you that you stay with a golden brown or reddish brown, nothing with ash (you will have gray tints) in it and no maughony (you will have purple tints). I might suggest you go to a wig supply shop and try on wigs in different colors of brown to see if your skin color can handle the darker shades. if you have golden under tones in your skin you will see that the golden browns look best, if you have red or pink under tones than you will see the reddish browns look good, but if you have silver under tones to your skin you will notice that dark brown isnt for you at all. yes go for it, if you don't you'll never know.... I'm a hair stylist and have people come to me all the time wanting to go dark. Your stylist will sit down with you and talk through any big changes for you to make you feel as reassured as possible babe and you must make sure you feel happy with them... and as for blue/grey eye's it'll be amazing, it'll make them stand out. go for it, it'll e great.
